1) FLOURIDE TREATMENT - Worried about your little
ones teeth ? Do they catch decay fast because of sweet consumption ? You can rely
on us for your bundle of joys oral problems. We have specially formulated fluoride
treatment procedures to arrest the rapid spread of decay in their teeth. Fluoride
is an anion of the element Fluorine and it's known to help prevent and reverse the
early stages of tooth decay. Fluoride effectively eliminates tooth decay in two
ways. It creates a protective layer around the teeth that prevents the acid in plaque
from dissolving tooth enamel and it allows the teeth to re-mineralize. Fluoride
dental treatments come in fluoride gels, foams and varnishes.

Fluoride gels and varnishes are used by patients who are at high
risk for tooth decay, cavities and tooth loss and have minimum access to other fluoride
sources. Fluoride gels are applied through a mouth tray that contains the product.
It is quick, easy, painless chairside procedure. Even adults can opt for this procedure
if they have a history of multiple tooth decay.

2) PIT AND FISSURE SEALANTS - Sealants are thin,
plastic coatings painted on the chewing surfaces of back teeth.
They will help prevent the germs and food from getting stuck in the little pits
and fissures where children are most susceptible to getting cavities. Though dental
sealants are not a cure-all in preventing tooth decay, they are the most cost effective
solution to preventing cavities in certain areas of the mouth!
Children should get sealants on their permanent teeth as soon as the teeth erupt
and before decay attacks the tooth. Around age 6, the "six year molars" will erupt
and around age 12, the "twelve year molars" will follow. Between those ages, the
"premolars" or "bicuspids" come in and need to be sealed if the child is rather
prone to cavities. Not all children need to have their bicuspids sealed.

Teenagers and young adults without decay or fillings on their
molars also may need sealants. We have seen sealants last up to 10 years. But they
need to be checked at regular intervals (check-ups) to make sure they are not chipped
or worn away. We can repair sealants by adding more sealant material.
Good oral hygiene at home, regular visits to the dental office, sealants and fluoride
can allow a child to grow up without ever developing a single cavity.

3) SPACE MAINTAINERS - Your child may loose a
milk tooth prematurely (i.e.before the actual time when its suppose to shed off
on its own) reason being pus, decay etc. This early loss of the primary milk tooth
may affect the development of the permanent tooth. The space where the permanent
tooth should succeed the primary one maybe lost due to drifting of the adjacent
milk tooth in that place and as a result that permanent tooth gets impacted.
The midline of the dentition will also shift either to the left or right depending
which side the tooth loss has occured. To prevent all these problems we advise space
maintainers. They are of differenr design depending upon different conditions, may
be removable or fixed.

4) Pedo Crowns - Sometimes due to extensive decay
and pain in the milk teeth, a child has to undergo pulpectomy (term used here refers
to root canal) to preserve that tooth.
Consequences of loosing milk teeth has already been explained in the above section.
To protect that endodontically treated tooth we give crowns. (Cellulose crowns in
front teeth and stainless steel crowns in the back teeth).

Nervous about dentistry ?
Sleep dentistry is the answer we have for this. Being afraid of visiting the dentist
is something that most people experience, sometimes it is due to a previous bad
experience or it may simply be a fear of the drill or even the unknown. At our office
we treat nervous patients all the time and provide a warm and relaxing environment.
We will explain every thing to you step-by-step, listen to all your needs and concerns
and ensure that you are entirely comfortable with any procedure that you are to
undergo.
Sedation - For those that are very anxious or if you are undergoing
a longer procedure we offer conscious sedation. This treatments uses a combination
of medications that put you into a very relaxed dream like state. Many of our patients
have commented that if they had known how comfortable treatment was under sedation
they never would have had any worries about dental treatment. This is such a relaxing
procedure that some people call it sleep dentistry.
