BUT WE PROVE IT ALL WRONG RIGHT HERE AT DENTOCARE! READ FURTHER TO BELEIVE US
A dental implant is nothing but a titanium metal replacement for a root of a tooth that is surgically implanted in the jaw bone. When it is inserted a bond is formed and the jaw bone gradually grows into the implant. As the area heals after surgery, the bone around the implant fuses to it through a process called as "osseo integration". The length of the healing time is based on the quality and quantity of the bone as well as the type of implant inserted. After healing phase is complete, the implants are used to anchor crowns, bridges or dentures depending upon the number of missing teeth.

OUR SAY ON DENTAL IMPLANTS
Bone Grafting / Augmentation Procedure
Implant With Single Anterior Missing Tooth
1) TO begin with, the Dentocare experts take a thorough evaluation of the patients medical and dental history, full clinical examintaion of the entire mouth and missing tooth area including specific x-rays like OPG, CT SCAN, etc to evaluate your bone condition. Patient is covered with standard analgesics and in case of infections, antibiotics are prescribed.
2) It is a quick painless procedure involving anaesthesia delivery only around the area where it is to be inserted. You can happily walk out of our clinic within an hour.
3) Recovery is quicker than before at an average 8 weeks with latest innovations. Softer bone however may take a little longer.
4) Lets throw light on the most commonly used terms which you keep on hearing.

a) SAME DAY IMPLANT - Implants can be placed at the time of tooth extraction unless you have infection in that area or lack of able bone to hold it. Implants can be immediately loaded with a permanent post and a temporary tooth at the time of placement for your front teeth. The same thing holds true for lower front missing teeth as well, but the case is not so for your back teeth because they are involved in heavy functions like chewing so stress levels are high for same day placement procedure.
b) BONE GRAFTING/BONE AUGMENTATION PROCEDURES - This surgical procedure uses a barrier membrane / particle bone placed under the gum and over the remaining bone support to enhance regeneration of new bone in an area where teeth are extracted or already I removed. This is specifically done to build up the bone support in the implant insertion area but sometimes we do it to improve the shape and contour of the region prior to placing implants here. This is purely for aesthetic purpose. Because of bone resorption in edentulous area from lack of teeth stimulation, bone diseases and ensuing extractions or trauma, many implant planning procedures requires bone graft as a must. In some cases we do bone grafting at same time of implant placement while in others it is performed well in advance in order to establish healthy bone ready to take the implant load. Bone used may be autogenous (patients own) allogenic or synthetic. Once this bone graft is matured, implants can be placed.
c) SINUS LIFT/SINUS AUGMENTATION PROCEDURES - It ia a surgical procedure designed to add bone to the upper jaw in the area around your molars and premolars. Bone is added to the section between your maxillary sinus (located on either side of your nose) and your jaw in order to make it taller. To make enough space to add this bone, your sinus membrane may be required to be lifted. This is usually performed when the area lacks sufficient bone for implant placement. This bone loss can occur due to infection, gum disease, or maxillary sinus being too near to your upper jaw.

Sinus Lift Procedure
5) LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST WHY CHOOSE IMPLANTS OVER A BRIDGE- Firstly in implants we do not touch your adjacent healthy teeth at all as compared to a bridge where we have to cut down your natural teeth, secondly since implants are placed in the bone the constant vibration of implant preserves your jaw bone as compared to the denture wearing patients whose bone begins to shrink because of constant pressure of the denture directly on the jaw bone. So they have the typical "old person" look. So implants preserve more bone. As far as your old look is concerned, our surgeon is trained for BOTOX AND DERMAL FILLERS to give you that youthful look even if you are a denture wearer.
WE ARE ALWAYS HAPPY TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT BENEFIT OF IMPLANTS, NEW HORIZONS AND IF YOU ARE FACING THE PROSPECTS OF LOOSING YOUR TEETH THE WORLD OF DENTAL IMPLANTS OPENS UP A NEW DOOR FOR YOU. SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US AT ANYTIME AND WE ARE ALWAYS " HAPPY TO HELP".
